Reflection

The whole blogging experience was new to me. I have never blogged before, so it was really new. I liked it though. It was fun. The part I liked the most was when you got to pick your topic. I always got excited about when we were going to start, but that is also the part I didn't like. Right after I picked my topic, I thought that we were going to start blogging right away and we were waiting like almost a month! So I just wished that we would have started earlier, because I was really looking forward to blogging and then we ended up waiting a while (which felt like forever to me!). Also another part that I didn't really like about blogging was that we had little time to do each post. Like it was unorganized. We weren't told each day what we had to get done really, like it was confusing because at first we had to get some done and then all done at one time, and they were all given to us at one time. With the first posts that we had to do we had a lot of time and then the last couple ones we had like no time and it was all rushed. Another thing that was kind of confusing is that we did other stuff in language arts, like poetry. I know that we have to get a lot done in this year, but with the blog posts that we have to finish, and other homework assignments, its really hard to get it all done. But the whole blogging experience all together was good. I have never done anything like it and it was fun but stressful at the same time, for the reasons I said before.

I could have done a lot of stuff differently. First off I could have picked a different topic. I guessed from the beginning that I would not have a lot of views because it is on swimming, but I didn't know what other topic that I would know a lot about that I could write eight blogs on. Most people don't swim, I mean it is not that common of a sport, so I didn't think that a lot of people would read it because they wouldn't have been interested in swimming. I think it would have helped if I would have followed more people because then they might have followed me and decided to read my blogs. Also it may have helped if I have commented some peoples posts because then they may have commented mine. I have only commented on one other persons post and followed one other persons blog, so that probably didn't help. So if in high school I will ever have to blog again (which I hope so because that was fun) then I will learn from the mistakes I have made this time and will fix them and follow and comment more people! Otherwise it was a great experience!

  1. I appreciate your openness in voicing concerns about your blog experience. I would suggest that you ask more questions and pay attention to the board that marks what you needed to accomplish. Despite it all, you did a pretty great job. I am sure your teacher would agree. Great job blogging...I bet I could beat you swimming.
